Japan Center in Nizhny Novgorod

Japan Center in Nizhniy Novgorod was established in October 2001 on the mutual initiative of the Governments of Japan and the Russian Federation. It is functioning in the framework of Japan's assistance program for Russia exercised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Japan Center in Nizhniy Novgorod is the youngest and the largest out of seven Japan centers operating at the territory of the Russian Federation.

The activities of the Japan Center are focused on the development of industrial, economic, cultural and educational cooperation, creation of favorable environment for expansion of trade and growth of investments between the Russian Federation and Japan. Geographically the scope of its activities applies to the whole territory of the Volga Federal District, comprising 14 constituent subjects of the Russian Federation.
